Hmmmm....Fact or Feeling?

I've come to realize that many things often classed as feelings are so much more real and important when recognized as choices.

For example, there is a type of courage that could be defined as the absence of feelings of fear. Then there is the kind of courage that could be defined as doing something (because you know its right) even though you are scared to death! To me the latter is the more profound kind of courage.

Faith could be described as a great feeling of confidence. Or it could be defined as a decision to trust God, even though your feelings say otherwise. Again, I think the latter is more like true faith.

The same could be said for hope, love, joy, peace. All of these can exist as feelings, but when the feelings aren't there, there is still a deeper principle or virtue that we can choose to live by, and which carries us through.
